Join Women in Motion for our Autumn Half-Marathon Training Program.

Wednesdays, August 4th - October 13th, 6:30-8:00 pm at University of Michigan Outdoor Track, Ann Arbor

Sundays, 8:30-10:00 am, September 12, 19, 26, October 3, 10 at Hudson Mills Metropark, Dexter

Goal Event:  The Detroit Free Press Half-Marathon, Detroit, October 17, 2010

Our 11-week training program begins on Wednesday, August 4th from 6:30-8:00 pm at the University of Michigan Outdoor Track.  Weekly Wednesday evening group workouts are designed to help you train with other women of similar experience and ablility levels.  For our half-marathon program, a second group workout is added on Sunday mornings for the last five weeks of training.  The Sunday morning workout, at Hudson Mills Metropark, focuses on meeting the endurance needed for a successful half-marathon finish.

Half-Marathon program is designed for runners with 6-12 months of consistent training or experienced athletes interested in improving half-marathon finish time and fitness level.

Included with your registration:

  • A training plan complete with healthy living strategies, strength/core training information and nutrition tips.
  • Expert advice from experienced women coaches.
  • The opportunity to train with women with similar goals and fitness levels.

Autumn 5K & 10K Session Starts August 4th

Join Women in Motion for our Autumn 2010 5K & 10K Training Program.

The 9 week session will be held at the University of Michigan Outdoor Track on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00.

Dates:  Wednesdays, August 4th - September 29th, 6:30-8:00 PM

Location:  University of Michigan Outdoor Track, Ann Arbor

Goal Event:  The Big House Big Heart 5K or 10K, Ann Arbor, October 3, 2010

We welcome beginners looking to finish their first organized walk/run, experienced runners who would like some guidance in becoming faster and anyone in between!  Wednesday sessions also include strength and flexibility training.

Included with your registration:

  • A training plan complete with healthy living strategies, strength/core training information and nutrition tips.
  • Expert advice from experienced women coaches.
  • The opportunity to train with women with similar goals and fitness levels.

Recommendations for selecting The Big House the Big Heart training:

5K - For those just starting an exercise program or experienced walkers/runners interested in improving 5K finish time and fitness level. (5k/10k Registration Form)

10K - For walkers/runners with at least 3-6 months of consistent training under their belts or experienced athletes interested in improving 10K finish time and fitness level.(5k/10k Registration Form)
